Two of my friends are allergic to apples, what freaks.

I may complain that i have to go to work, or that sometimes stupid things happen there, and you know what? They do. Really though, i love my job and here is the perfect example of why.

Last night i was punching my order and my boss turned to me and was like, "Want to arm wrestle at the huddle?" And yes i sure did. So apparently we both forgot about it, because about half an hour post-hud i was like, "hey we forgot, what are you a chicken?? BaaGAAAAAA." Then she picked up the intercom and direct announced that we would be arm wrestling before the night was out.

So i'm stocking grocery, and all of a sudden 'the merchant' pulled a stack of soup boxes into the center of the aisle and was like, "Let's get ready to rumble!!!" (Ok what actually happened was K was about to leave, and 'the merchant' was like, hey weren't you gonna arm wrestles?) and we did. The end.

Ok so K may have beaten me barely. Next time she can stock all day, i'll stay in the office, and we'll see what's what (probably the same results).

Today i made Apple Beer because i was intrigued (a small batch because i was scared). As far as beer goes, this one is MAD simple. You need some malt of your choice. I went with a Gambrinus honey malt, becasue i think it'll go well with the apples. You need about 1-1 1/2 cups

Boil two and one half quarts of water, and add your malt. Simmer until it tastes good.

Strain and pour into your primary fermenter:

Let cool to room temp, then add preservative free/pasteurized apple cider (i used apple juice because oBviously i know better then professionals who have researched (i accidentally bought the wrong bottle)). And a packet of champaign yeast. Air lock it, and let it sit in the corner of your mother's kitchen for one week.

At which point we'll bottle. Here's an awesome shot of my Heff-a-WHat!!! I introduced it to my parents today, and mid commercial break my mom shouted, "MORE BEER!" Which made me happy.

  1. Yes, the beer was great! I actually said that I had never thought of beer as a dessert, but with the traditional lemon wedge, it was as satisfying as a dessert. Yeah LP! Do more beer.
